Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information Cameron County Released Inmates receives, why it is used, and when another party may receive it. It also explains cookies, security limits, and user choices. By continuing to use this site, you accept the practices described here.

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. We do not store or log those query terms on our own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its handling of the request.

If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details needed to answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, including a valid order issued under applicable Texas or federal authority.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Standard web systems may record basic technical and usage data when a page loads. That information can include:

  • Your Internet Protocol address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when supplied.
  • Date and time stamps.

Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or remove them, though some functions may behave differently when cookies are blocked.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports a limited set of operating needs:

  • Keeping pages available and responsive.
  • Sending a search request to the selected partner service.
  • Understanding which Cameron County record pages visitors find useful.
  • Diagnosing errors, abuse, and performance problems.
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.

Privacy Beyond This Site

Links may lead to Cameron County release records, the Sheriff's Office, TDCJ, BOP, ICE, court portals, or an outside search provider. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. We are not responsible for that site's collection or retention practices.

Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across different sites and tailor ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems, not ours.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still be handled by:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query.
  • Analytics vendors that measure site use.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
  • Law enforcement or another government authority acting under a valid legal demand.

Security Has Practical Limits

We use ordinary administrative and technical safeguards suited to this site. No internet service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed breach-proof. We therefore cannot promise absolute security for information sent online.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request its deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the information we can reasonably verify, a user may:

  • Ask for a copy of personal data we hold.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Ask that eligible data be erased.
  • Opt out of certain processing where that right applies.

Submit a request through Contact Us. This private-site policy is separate from a public-record request under the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, which must go to the government office holding the record.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this privacy notice as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes effective when posted here with an updated effective date.
